Hot swapping PC Hardware

I know that this is pretty stupid, but it is possible to hot-swap some PC hardware. I use loadable modules for everything I can, so I can unload the scsi host adapter module, and then add / remove SCSI devices.

I have also added a floppy drive to a running system. First I plugged in the data cable, then the power. I don't know if the is the best order, but it worked. Once it is plugged it, load the module and away you go. (NOTE: Do this at your own risk! PC hardware is not designed to be hot-swappable. But now that there is an OS, which will run for more than a week...)
